push the little daisies [ween concert]

last night we went to see ween play at a central park summerstage concert. it was the best concert i've ever been to - the venue is a fantastic size, the weather was perfect, and the volume was just right! on the walk to the concert zach saw madonna filming a movie. I was waiting for him at the concert, so I did not see her. :(
there were bleachers in the back which we sat on. apparently we are officially boring. side note - the bleachers were fantastic. no pushy people, could see just fine, and feet weren't tired. oh well, maybe being boring isn't such a bad thing.
by the way - lots of update posts today. i'm trying to fill in some gaps.

cubitec inspection

We got some new cubitec shelving units for the kitchen along with some floating bookshelves from umbra. The cats find inspection of all apartment items to be one of their duties. Fortunately Winnie cannot jump high on her own (we put her on top of the shelf for the photo).

down in africa

Zach has been to Africa for work twice this spring. While most of the time he is working, he did have the chance to go to a game preserve. Here is some of the wildlife.
This kitty is bigger than the ones in our apartment!
I always think hippos are neat looking. Important hippo fact- they are mean.

yankees

In March, our friend Tim gave us tickets to a Yankees game in the new Yankees staduim. The game was after work, we took the subway up to the Bronx for the adventure. We arrived around the third inning and stayed through the eighth. Overall, that was a perfect amount of baseball for me! The game was fun, the seats were great, the food was expensive!

that's right, we moved again!

Last weekend we moved again to another park slope apartment. This apartment actually used to belong to good friends of our's who moved to Vermont, so its funny to see all of our stuff in here! Zach has a really busy schedule the next several weeks, so we decided to go ahead and move last weekend, while we had a (semi)free weekend. We actually went to a wedding on Saturday night after moving in the morning, but it turned out to be a welcome break from boxes!
Its odd to move less than 10 blocks, and it turns out that its as much as moving across states. We hired movers, which is always a huge help. We are always amazed how much stuff that we have once its all in boxes. Even the movers commented on that!
this is our new sunny living room. The couch on the right is our new one, and the one near the windows used to belong to our friends. We are using it for now, since there is room. The color isn't quite right though, so we won't keep it.
this is our sunny new bedroom. the restaurant next door sends smells of delicious bacon wafting in on weekend mornings. zach hopes this will help me want to eat more brunch foods and less cereal.
the kitties are adapting well. there are lots of things for them to watch out the windows, which is quite entertaining. they were stressed out at first- as usual, but i think they have fully adapted. This afternoon I opened up the windows to enjoy the nice weather, and the new noises seem to be a little bit startling for the cats!

happy easter!

Cats love the new couch!

We finally ordered our couch, and this weekend it was finally delivered! This is a case study daybed couch by modernica, in kings road ash upholstery. We love it- its so comfortable, and really well made. This afternoon all three kitties sat with the two of us, which is practically unheard of.
Now all we have to do is prevent Winnie from scratching up the fabric!
(It also appears that Dash thinks its tasty!) :)

snowpocalype!

Serious snow today! Finally! :)

On the way to work I saw snowplow relay action where there were 5 snowplows working together to plow the main roads in Manhattan. It was really amazing. They each worked together, plowing the snow the previous one left behind to clear the whole road in one path.
Its actually a little lame though, I'd just like for people to slow down and enjoy how pretty the snow can be!

Brooklyn was a totally different world when I left for work and still when I came home this evening. Its beautiful, snow everywhere... This is my walk to the subway.
